Horizon 2020 is providing the opportunity for non-academic organisations to host a fully funded post doctorate researcher to work on a research project of your choice.
There are a number of different panels that can be applied to as part of the scheme and non-academic hosts are eligible for all of them. However, in 2016 and 2017 a new pilot panel called ‘Society and Enterprise’ has been introduced and only non-academic organisations are eligible as hosts.
The opportunity allows organisations to attract an experienced researcher (post-doctoral level onwards) from outside the UK to spend between 12 and 24 months fully funded, working at the host organisation on a research and innovation project. The call is bottom-up, so applicants can define their own project, and both the host and future Fellow benefit in terms of knowledge transfer and the delivery of scientific excellence. As with all MSCA opportunities it is very much about supporting the individuals behind the research via training-through-research.More details on the official website
