Self-healing materials
Development of materials that can maintain their integrity and self-heal when deficiencies occur due to material degradation. Materials could be applicable to any asset that’s exposed to environmental conditions: blades, tower, substructures, cables. In electrical infrastructure power cable failure in wet environments arises most frequently from damage to the protective sheath or jacket layers allowing rapid water ingress.
