Offshore Wind Innovation Hub Project Manager
Andrew is a Chartered Engineer and qualified Project Manager with close to 10 years’ experience in the offshore wind industry. Before joining ORE Catapult Andrew delivered a range of projects for one of the major turbine OEMs in the field of O&M. His experience extends to prototype testing, delivering complex logistical solutions, and major equipment tendering. Within the ORE Catapult Andrew manages various collaborative, cross-industry projects focusing on fostering innovation and delivering valuable research in offshore wind.
Dan Sumner
Project Development Manager
Dan is an experienced analyst and project manager with over eight years experience in the offshore industry. Before joining ORE Catapult, Dan delivered a range of projects and deliverables as a subsea Project Manager, Project Surveyor and offshore Data Processor for one of the major offshore survey companies. His experience extends to developing R&D opportunities, extensive team management, geospatial data processing and project implementation, especially within operation and maintenance tasks. Within ORE Catapult, Dan works within the Operational Performance team, specialising in robotics, data and digitalisation.
Kacper Stefaniak
Kacper StefaniakStrategy Manager
Kacper leads on the innovation roadmapping activities of the Offshore Wind Innovation Hub, and is a Strategy Analyst in the Research & Disruptive Innovation team at the ORE Catapult. The OWIH innovation roadmaps are advanced prioritisation tools that identify the innovation needs of the offshore wind sector. Prior to joining OWIH, Kacper worked for McKinsey & Company as an analyst in a variety of projects.
John Ransford
John RansfordKnowledge Transfer Manager
John manages the KTN delivery work for the Offshore Wind Innovation Hub, and works in the Energy team of Innovate UK’s Knowledge Transfer Network. John leads on the Offshore Wind Innovation Exchange (OWiX) programme, and has responsibility for out-of-sector stakeholder engagement.
Ravneet Kaur
Innovation Manager
Ravneet manages the ORE Catapult delivery side of Offshore Wind Innovation Exchange. She is Innovation Manager for the Research & Innovation team, which leads ORE Catapult’s search for future technology to advance the offshore renewable energy sector. Ravneet is responsible for enabling high-growth potential SMEs to enter and grow in the renewable energy sector, working with them to commercialise new technologies, identify investment and access testing services. Before joining ORE Catapult, Ravneet was Chief Operating Officer at a clean technology start-up, specialising in smart energy systems.
Dr Chong Ng
Dr Chong NgHead of Applied Research
Dr Chong Ng leads on providing expert technical review of the innovation roadmapping activities of OWIH, and is Head of Applied Research at ORE Catapult. He leads a specialist team conducting applied research in all areas of offshore renewable energy. Chong is a Chartered Engineer and has a PhD in electrical power quality. Chong has published more than 50 international research papers, a book on offshore wind farm technologies, design, and operation; and holds a number of international patents.
David Wallace
David WallaceHead of Strategic Development and Policy
David works as a Senior Strategy Manager in ORE Catapult and is responsible for strategic planning, government engagement and strategic initiatives like Offshore Wind Innovation Hub. David has broad experience of the energy sector including roles with the UK Government, International Energy Agency and the North Carolina Energy Office ranging from R&D, to policy and programme development and management. He has pursued research and analysis into linkages between innovation and environmental policies and authored two books on the subject while at Chatham House.
